You guys need to take a math class, or a science class, or a class on another religion. Or preferably just shut up.

    • preach@luke24vs47.com says:

Welcome. I have taken many courses in math and sciece and my career was based on applying what I learned. And what I found in my studies and in my life is order observed in science and math is applied logic, and I know that whatever the worldview of a man is, when he begins to study the world and nature he must pre suppose the existence of order or logic ; otherwise all that remains is random observations and test results with no reason to be certain of any standard or knowledge. In fact, all scientific study by man is ultimately based on using his five senses to interpret what is observed. As you read this reply there is no reason to be certain that your senses are valid. Are there not men disabled or hanicapped who are unable to reason or logically react with their environment? How can you be certain your senses are valid as you read this and interpret what you read? So then all men start with a presupposition. The Christian, with a foundation of GOD as creator and sustainer of all of creation, has a logical presuppostion that allows for logic and order and by revelation of GOD, the origin of space, matter, life, truth, morality, and wisdom. The non Christian has a presuppostion which uses logic and reason yet has no reasonable or logical explanation for their existence. To deny absolute truth, or logic, is to resort to a worldview in which there no thing that can be known for certain; and logically then, even this { declaration} can’t be known for certain. Of a truth though, we are a part of a universe that exists and live in a real world and all the philosophy known to man can’t change the reality of life and death. If you are reading this you are alive and exist and will one day perish for it is appointed unto every man once to die and after this judgement. This life, and death is revealed by GOD through His Word. Man is created in GOD’s likeness and through sin comes death. All have sinned and all die for the wages of sin is death and the soul that sins shall perish. But thanks be to GOD that through the life death and resurrection of Christ we are offerred victory over sin and death, forgiveness of sin and life eternal through repentance toward GOD and saving faith in Jesus Christ.

has God ever spoken to you?

      • preach@luke24vs47.com says:

GOD has spoken to me in several different ways. Mostly from reading the Bible which is His revelation to men. So as I read I can know Him better. Not like a novel or a personal letter addressed to me; but in a different way. I have read many books and taken notes hoping to memorize the parts I need and if I do succeed in remembering it is because they were always the same. But each time I go through GODs Word it may bring a new light or a different way of thinking. And I have a note I saved from my wife before she passed away and if I read it I may have a tender memory but never a new thought. GODs Word is inspired by The Holy Spirit and this same Spirit in dwells in all believers. Not just in those that believe they speak in tongues but in all who are born again, and this demonstrated by a love of GOD and His word and a passion to know Christ.
Another less frequent but more powerful way is when a thing seems impressed in my thoughts. For example in the midst of a dark depression it was clearly in my thoughts to rejoice or thank GOD for my trials and I knew that I could never do this and had little desire to do this and then it came to me to bring this to The Lord and to pray and wrestle that He would accomplish this in me. And as I did pray and beseech GOD over an extended time my inward thoughts on self were replaced ( long before I realized it). A different way is when occasionally I wrestle within myself over doing something because it seems unimportant or too hard or too time consuming or because others would see it as too legalisticor pointless. And after an inward debate my question is , Who was I debating with and why would I plead with GOD for guidance or discernment one day and then argue with Him the next day. Only being a Christian for ~~ 9 years I know I have much to learn and I yet hope and pray for times when like disciples I might worship GOD in spirit and in truth, abiding in Christ, having fellowship with Him, led by His Spirit, even to be like John, in the Spirit on the LORDs day. I hope this will make sense to you.
Without faith no one can please the LORD. And clearly without faith none will have a relationship with GOD. Faith that He, is faithful and a rewarder of those who seek Him. And knowing that faith is a gift given by GODs grace. We can’t buy, earn, or summon it from within ourselves, but knowing that if we reach out to GOD He is not far from us for in Him we live and breathe and exist.
Thanks, remember that for a Christian Christ is our High Priest and Intercessor who intercedes for us. And He knows our weaknesses and temptations and in union with Him we can overcome and rejoice even in times of trial as we draw closer to Him for then He draws near to us.

  2. voice in the wilderness says:

I heard enough of your message to know that your ilk are nothing more than wolves in sheep’s clothing. No, I am not “blind” to the sins on campus, by any means. I am not the one making excuses, but you seem to do a great job of that here. Your circus antics on Campus do little to nothing to help any of us in the struggles we face everyday. Maybe if you got down off your little pedestals and talked to us like human beings you could accomplish something. No that would get in the way of slinging stones. Perhaps a review of Matthew Chapter 7 is in order for you. Your type seem to especially struggle with that chapter. Review Romans 2.1-7 and 13.13 while you’re at it,

Yes, I am very much aware of the Gospels and the message of salvation. Your group NEVER preaches about the actual Gospel. Instead, you spent most of the time ranting about “evolution” or any number of subjects not based in the Bible. Every time you guys show up you say not one single word about grace, compassion, social justice, or anything else Jesus spoke at length about. You further show your willful ignorance by asking such questions as “Have you once felt sorrow for your sins?” and “How long will you justify your sins?”. Again, your message seems solely centered on the speck in my eye, instead of actually taking action to make changes.

You can deflect the blame if you like by accusing me of being “centered on the sin of the politicians” but the Bible speaks for itself. If you guys had any guts, like the prophets Jeremiah and Elijah of old, you’d be down at the Virginia State Capitol or down to City Hall to call out Pastor/Mayor Jones for the pulpit pimp that he is. Sorry, you are certainly no Nathan. It is clear from your antics on Campus, your “sin” obsessed reply here, your refusal to take any accountability for your actions, that you and your group are only interested in in casting judgment on youth, instead of actually reaching out and making tangible change.

Do us all a favor, and either put your money where your mouth is, i.e, Jesus’ actual words in the Gospels, or please, take your snake oil show down the road and stop turning God’s word into a circus sideshow. Meanwhile, the “poor, the widow, the prisoner, and the stranger” all live only a few short blocks away from Campus. Surely, slinging stones at college students trying to make a living is more important than following Jesus’ actual commands.

  3. voice in the wilderness says:

These wannabe curbside prophets are nothing more than wolves in sheep’s clothing. Your antics on campus do very little to promote the message of Jesus as told in the gospels; indeed your finger pointing, stone throwing diatribes couldn’t be far more reoved from Jesus’ message. I wish we could purge your ilk from our campus just as Jesus did the Money Changers from the Temple. You liken yourselves to Isaiah, but I bet you guys haven’t the guts to scream your fire and brimstone outside the Capitol building or City Hall (where the real iniquity lies). Cowards and frauds who like to put themselves on a pedestal, the Apostle Paul sums up your kind best in Romans 2:24; “As it is written: “God’s name is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”

    • preach@luke24vs47.com says:

      Well My friend,
you may not have heard the entire message. I stated from the beginning that I was a sinner saved by the grace of GOD. So your condemnation and judgement of my life and testimony only confirm what GOD had already revealed : in my flesh there is no good thing, but, I preach Christ and Him crucified and I am saved because He paid for my failure..Forgiveness from GOD was free for me but purchased by the precious blood of Christ So I preach a good GOD and a glorious Saviour not only able to save but willing to save, to the uttermost. Scripture says to first remove the log from your own eye and THEN remove the speck from your neighbor’s eye, not to leave your neighbor lost with no knowledge of the truth. The knowledge of the truth about how we fall short of GOD’s standard hurts but if He shows mercy it will also bring about a Godly sorrow for our sin that would lead to our repentance. Have you once ever felt a Godly sorrow for your sin? We did in fact preach in DC last Saturday not just to students but to all those outside the White House. Your thought of the sinfulness in government demonstrates blindness to the sin on campus or even in your heart. Every bike locked, video cameras mounted, even armed campus police. Notices posted about date rape, violence, and drug abuse are clearly visible yet you excuse yourself and accuse others. Your own college dean threatens to expel those caught cheating, and you point your finger at everyone else. Nathan ‘s word to David is my word to you (you -are the man ).
How long will you justify your sin?
I am not your enemy. The message Jesus commanded to be preached is the same as my website Luke 24vs47. The Messiah must suffer and die and be raised from the dead and repentance for remission for sin preached to all nations. I pray that was preached at VCU . Because a fruit of repentance is a change of mind demonstrated by love toward GOD and the neighbor He created rather than love of self and love of sin. Jesus declared You must be born again. Apart from this we remain condemned by the law (not the preacher), and in bondage to sin. But the Gospel declares that through the sinless life, death on the cross, and resurrection in accordance with scripture those who believe are granted pardon from sin, redeemed from the curse of the law, purchased by Christ’s blood, and pass from spiritual death unto eternal life. GOD commands all men everywhere to repent and believe the Gospel for He has appointed a day in which all men shall be judged and every man will stand at the judgement seat of Christ.
Thanks again. Next time maybe we can get some coffee and discuss what’s wrong with the world and what is needed in the world and how the world might be saved.
      Don
