Thanks for the comment. We all identify ourselves in some manner. We can use our senses to look in a mirror, we can use our intellect, we can ask and trust in the opinion of another. Your comment in one sense identifies yourself in terms of your feelings and sexual preference. After review of your comment I would infer that without doubt you are a member of humankind, made upright, made in the image of your creator, with an intellect, not just to be subject to feelings and urges, but able to reason about things like the existence of God, and then to declare you are without God. I would say, based upon what God has revealed to all of humankind, you are more than flesh and blood and intellect and emotions; you are a living soul. And all these place you in a relationship with the God you deny, whether it is a relationship in which your hatred of God or anger causes you to suppress the truth about what God has revealed to you, or what God has made you to be, or whether you were to humble yourself and trust that He knows what is best for you. It is true that you know what feels best, and maybe you feel like you are the master of your fate and captain of your soul. Or, it may be you would prefer to be a beast, without intellect, reason, or conscience, a product of stardust; and yet if that were that case you could not “know” who you were nor have any thought with regard to God. And you would appear to be proud of who you are, and profess knowing to be without God. What is not self evident to all members of humankind is what God has done in history to reconcile rebellious creatures who use reason and intellect to reason against God. Surely all of the holy angels would say Amen if God were to rid the earth of those who hate Him. Yet God demonstrated His patience, compassion, and love in the offering of His Son Jesus Christ to redeem a people for Himself, to rescue them from darkness, and slavery to sin and to set them free, to save them from; wrong thinking, sin, the guilt, shame, and condemnation that sin brings, and ultimately the judgment God has promised; for God is a just Judge and, He, will always be just and do right. God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son so that whoever believes in Him would have eternal life and not perish. This love of God was manifested not- because we loved God, but because He first loved us; those who believe, He saves us by His grace through faith, it is a gift. His command for all of mankind is to repent and believe in the Gospel, the sinless life of His precious Son, his sacrificial death to atone for the sin we committed, and His resurrection from the dead. I would imagine you have heard this before yet not received it as true nor the only way to be reconciled to your Creator. You may now see no need for reconciliation or forgiveness, but surely you can understand yesterday is spent. Tomorrow is never a guarantee, and after many tomorrows the end therein is an open grave. God’s offer now is love, peace with God, forgiveness, a newness of life, a pure reason to live, and ultimately eternal life in heaven in His presence, and all this to be received by repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ. I urge you to consider these things. To identify as a gay atheist has only a shallow life for a time and then death and judgment, but whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
I hope you can discern I am not your enemy. I would love to see you trust in Him who is greater than self and love Him who offers a redeeming love. He offers eternal life, adoption into His family, washed in the blood of His Son.

I am confused why evangelicals such as yourselves take such issue with the theory of evolution by natural selection. Nothing in the Bible specifically mentions the timescales over which God was purported to operate, nor the mechanism by which he created the multitudes of animals and plants. Why is it so deeply challenging to your faith to believe that the hand that God used to sculpt his creations was that of natural selection? Curious because people holding signs saying “Evolution Is a Lie” with links to your sight are on my campus right now.

    • preach@luke24vs47.com says:

Thanks for asking. One reason for being present on campus is to answer questions that no one has answered or you never before thought to ask. First, as Christians, the answers given will be as revealed in the Bible since that is made known by an all knowing God who knows the beginning and the end of all things. I will speak on the authority of God’s infallible word. Your response will be based on “some” authority- whether that would be a textbook, a philosophy, or simply to appeal to your very own intellect.
      1) The Bible in Gen 1 declares that God created all things in 6 days. The Hebrew word is ” yom “. This month Jewish men and women will remember Yom Kippur, the day of atonement. Some would hold this to be poetry in one place and a 24 hour period in the other. Exodus 20.11 is God declaring His commands to all those he created, although made know first to the descendants of Abraham. ” For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them is, and rested the seventh day ( yom ). I believe the statements are clear, but many would read into them that which is not present but reconciles their faith in intellect rather than in the revealed truth of the Bible.
      2) Gen 1, God said, let there be light; and there was light. Heb 11.3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were formed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
      3) To be confronted with contrary views does not challenge my faith, in that my faith has as a foundation the revelation of an infallible God. As for faith, the Bible says, faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. My faith was granted to me by God’s grace. I did not reason my way unto salvation, instead I believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, believing in fact that He is the Word of God that has become flesh; a living Saviour.
      4) We use the evolution is a lie sign not wanting to discuss the parameters of evolution, but simply to challenge men and women to make know what truth is in their worldview, and by what authority they hold to that truth. So then, if you would insist that evolution is … true, then the issue starts with truth, and we may never go beyond that. If you would appeal to a truth apart from God then the final authority would ultimately be your intellect. And as great as your intellect is, you can not validate your intellect without appealing to your own 5 senses, and if you have faith (pre suppose) your senses are valid, you still can only account for “your” intellect. And you are only one in 7 billion intellects that make up the present population of mankind. Yet we are daily faced with facts, moral truths, logical truths, mathematical truths, and scientific truths. Many were true before this generation appeared. and that which is now found to be true was true even before it was known. How can there be a truth that transcends the individual intellect. How can a fact be true for 7 billion, unless as the Bible would declare, All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Christ Jesus. Truth as we know it is that which God has been revealed to us as truth, He supplied life, intellect, and He is the ultimate authority. Since the creation of the 1st man, chaos has been the result of men appealing to their fallen and fallible intellect instead of appealing to an eternal, omniscient, and kind God, who knows what is ultimately best for His creatures, especially since he sees the beginning and the end. What all men know is that there is a creator because God has made this evident. Due to fallen reason or because they have been blinded by the god of this world, who sends strong delusions, men suppress this, not in innocence but in ungodliness. What is not clearly revealed to all men is the sinfulness of sin or the holiness of God. Judgment has been revealed in the Bible as the way God demonstrates His justice. And Jesus Christ has revealed God’s mercy and grace, His salvation. In Jesus Christ God’s justice and mercy kiss, his righteousness reigns in mercy. And so we go to tell men and women the way of salvation, according to the word of God by the authority of God by the power of Jesus Christ, and by the Holy Spirit. Thanks for your question.
My question to you would be, when or if you have submitted to the will of God, and if God is the authority by which your life is spent. And if not, then hear the words of Jesus ” except you repent you will perish”. God commands all men everywhere to repent because He has appointed a day in which He will judge the world by the man appointed by God, and He has proven this by raising Him from the dead. I urge you to repent and be converted that your sins would be blotted out.

You are currently at my school and it makes me very sad to see someone preaching such hatred in the attempt at love and faith. People in the LGBT community are doing absolutely no harm to you or anyone else. They are just trying to live their lives and be happy, yet many people I hear who preach of His love also preach hatred towards these people. They have every right to be happy and live their lives how they want as long as it is not harming another human being, just like you do. However your claims that they are not people, not worthy of His love and acceptance, are disgusting or wrong are in fact harming other human beings. I hope you will try to open your mind to this idea. You have every right to have your own beliefs, even if they are negative toward another person or group, but no right to try to push these beliefs on them. Love is love no matter if I happen to feel it for someone of the same sex or different. Thank you for your time.

Thanks for the comment and if my reply does not touch on the points you address, please feel free to write again. The call to go and preach is most surely according to the Bible. The call for Christians is not to gather together on Sunday mornings with other Christians. Jesus commands His followers to go out into the world. He was fully aware that this preaching would not be well received by the unconverted men and women who live in spiritual darkness, seeking all that the world offers. We endeavor to preach that which is found in the bible, so that when questions or concerns are raised, we can point to what God has revealed in His Holy Word; and if we have accurately spoken that which is declared by God, then the issue is not what we have come to say, but in what God has made known through His Word. One of the attributes of God made known to us today as revealed in the Bible, is love. And I think in a more clear way the Love of God was made known through The eternal Word, Jesus Christ, who came not because we deserved God’s love, since we have all in some way failed in the purpose for which God created us. For He made us in His image. Jesus came to save His people from their sin, which is God’s way of reconciling us to Himself, in this redeeming love, altogether unmerited, and totally by the grace of God. Jesus did not come into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world might be saved. Because of our sin, and our sin nature we are not in a loving relationship with God; apart from the sinless life of obedience, death on the cross, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is the salvation for men that God has provided and it can only be received by faith. Those who believe shall not perish, but be granted eternal life, meaning peace with God in heaven: and this is God’s love toward men. We preach the Gospel to believers so that they might be encouraged, and we preach the Gospel to non believers because we love them. We love them and we know that we were in some way like them, and only by the mercy of God, have we been saved. We likewise may have thought we were not hurting anyone, but upon seeing the sinfulness of sin, and the destruction sin brings with guilt and shame, we came to call upon the name of Jesus. The salvation God offers is free, and the means by which He offers the Gospel is by preaching. We preach by faith, certain that if God can save us, He can save others. We can not change hearts or minds but our faith is in God and with Him all things are possible. We may not preach perfectly, but we preach because we love, and we can love because God first loved us. We preach that which is true as revealed by God and this is contrary with how men feel and so there is often a tension. Because men don’t love God, or His word; what they love is self and sin. But thanks be to God, He can rescue us from sin and self love and the love of Christ can be shed abroad in our hearts. Thanks for commenting.
